Welcome To My Home Page

Hello! My name is Mrs. Schoenberger. I am a mathematics teacher at Wilmot Union High School in Wilmot, Wisconsin. I have been teaching at Wilmot since 2001. During the 2010-2011 school term, I will be teaching advanced algebra, geometry, and AP statistics.

Why I Created this Site

I created this site as a means to keep in contact with past, present, and future students and their parents. I update this site frequently. Click on the links to the left to find more information about how I run my classroom, and to view specific assignments from each class.  This site may be used in combination with the Skyward system to determine what assignments are due when.  The Skyward system will provide due dates, test and quiz dates, information about which items I have not received, and specific student grades.  This site provides the specific problem numbers that are assigned from each book lesson.

About Mrs. Schoenberger's Education

I worked my way through college. I started off at a community college and earned my AA and AS degrees from William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. I transferred to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, where I earned my BS degree in mathematics. I began teaching in Gurnee, Illinois. While I was teaching in Gurnee, I earned my MA in Education from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois.  I have taken a variety of courses here and there since I started teaching at Wilmot.

Personal Interests

I sincerely believe that teaching high school math is the best gig I ever could have landed.  I love high school kids.  I knew I wanted to be a teacher before I figured out what I wanted to teach.  When I was a little girl living in a bungalow in Chicago, I used to line my stuffed animals up on the stairs up to the porch and pretend to teach them.

I enjoy scrapbooking.  Family and friends are very important to me and I enjoy documenting special times, and sometimes not so special times, spent together in scrapbooks.  I have a daughter named Gretchen and a stepson named Alex.

My husband and I own two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Caroline and Dakota.  We enjoy spending time with our dogs.  We also own some ball pythons.  I'm learning a lot about these snakes and am finding information about their genetics very interesting.

We have some property in central Wisconsin where we keep a camper and like to spend time camping, swimming, and riding ATVs.  I also enjoy fishing.
