Welcome to the Advanced Placement Statistics Page!

AP Statistics is appropriate for students that have completed Advanced Algebra with a B average or above and who are strong English students. While the mathematics operations utilized for AP Statistics are not notably difficult, the course requires students to do quite a bit more reading and writing than they may be used to in a typical mathematics course. AP Statistics students learn to look at situations, determine appropriate data collection methods, select and run appropriate statistical tests on the data, and then interpret the results. A strong emphasis is placed upon student ability to communicate mathematics in written form.

The course consists of seven units in addition to studying for the AP Exam.  The units are as follows:  Exploring and Understanding Data, Regression, Collecting Data, Probability, Inference for Proportions, Inference for Means, and Inference for Counts and Slope.

Assignments for this course are listed below.  For the book assignments, the problems in bold will be graded and should be completed independently demostrating your highest quality work.  Students are expected to completely read every chapter from which problems are assigned.
